Andy Brush

Andy has a passion for saxophones that cannot fail to influence anyone who chooses to experience his teaching/tutelage – which is adaptable, fun and encouraging.

Discovering his website through a search engine led to my first lesson being arranged via e mail within twenty four hours of my initial contact – Andy is business like, reliable and professional.

Andy’s regular contacts and involvement in a wide variety of live performance undoubtedly has a positive influence on the experience he can offer students – up to date advice on all aspects of saxophone playing and opportunities to hear him perform live.

If you want to experience a successful way of learning the saxophone, it would be difficult to find a better person to guide you than Andy Brush.

Awesome musician and teacher – knowledgable, motivating and enthusiastic. Very patient and encouraging when it comes to the more intimidating tasks (for me this is improvisation) which results in being able make great progress! Lessons are both fun and inspirational – like being on a ferris wheel with Nelson Mandela.

Andys’ enthusiasm and passion for what he does is abundant and contagious. Always positive and sheer joy to have as a teacher. I feel very privileged to be one of his students and am so grateful for all his help and advice.

Andy is fantastic teacher, his knowledge of the saxophone is amazing and his enthusiasm for teaching equally amazing. I have been having lessons for just over a year now and have learnt so much from someone who is a very talented musician who has so much patience for a beginner like me. I always look forward to my next lesson. He also has a great sense of humour which helps you to relax when playing.

I have only been learning the sax a couple of years, but have found Andy a great guide starting from scratch to now having the confidence to improvise – something I wouldn’t have dreamt I was able to do when I started out. Always friendly and supportive – he keeps inspiring you to try and do more.

Andy has been teaching me for many years and has been an inspiration. He has introduced me to many different styles of music and greatly increased my skills and confidence. I always look forward to our fun and exciting lessons.

Lessons with Andy are always stimulating and can be really technically challenging, but above all they are good fun. I always come away from a lesson feeling better than when I went in.

And he’s very partial to pizza and pecan pie.

I greatly look forward to my regular lesson. Andy’s sense of fun, coupled with his easy going manner and his eagerness for you to improve creates a time machine – surely that can’t be an hour gone already?

I found this guy on the Internet for teaching saxophones, I did have to chasing him down to get a lesson but when I did it was brilliant from the start, I’ve now been having lessons with this guy for the past 14 years, who has now become A true friend, he is so passionate about the saxophone ,music in general and an absolutely Great teacher of the instrument if you’re looking to learn the saxophone this is the guy for you.

Andy has been unfailingly enthusiastic and encouraging and has helped me to move to the next level in my sax playing.

His lessons are fun but challenging and he is generous in sharing practice resources and his in depth knowledge of sax playing.

Andy Is a unique sort of guy – he is a very competent saxophonist – a teacher to many of us & lead sax in a variety of bands. He has also become a good friend & occasionally a confidant when one needs to talk.

Tuition is always fun but progressive – pushing our boundaries a little bit more – like playing in a difficult key!! Ouch!

I started playing at 58….(Andy was barely out of nappies!!) but he took the risk, he took on a slightly crazy lady who still doesn’t read music properly but loves improvising!

It’s a joy & wonderful therapy.
